Man found shot in car after ShotSpotter alert, 911 call

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was found shot inside a vehicle on Monday afternoon after a ShotSpotter was activated and alerted police.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to W. 17th Street around 12:58 p.m.

Witnesses, who also called emergency officials, said they heard multiple gunshots and saw a possible car leaving the area.

The man was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

Police said he was shot at least once.
