PHOENIX (AZFamily) —A person is fighting for their life, and another was sent to a hospital after a serious crash in central Phoenix on Monday night.
At about 11:30 p.m., first responders were called to a single-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 17, between 7th Street and 16th Street, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
DPS troopers believe a pickup truck transporting two motorcycles was traveling northbound on I-17 when, for an unknown reason, it veered left, struck the concrete median wall, and rolled over onto its driver’s side.
Both the driver and passenger were taken to a nearby hospital. The passenger suffered serious, life-threatening injuries.
Two dogs were also inside the pickup truck during the crash, but they appear to be unharmed, according to troopers. The Arizona Humane Society is helping to keep them safe, DPS said.
The crash remains under investigation.
