SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – We’re a pretty long way away from the postseason. But after a tough start to the year, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are playing themselves back into playoff consideration.
Notre Dame has won three straight games, which has the Irish above .500 for the first time this season as they have a 3-2 record. With these wins, they’re now up to No. 16 in the country in the latest Associated Press poll.
During these wins, running back Jeremiyah Love has been putting up big numbers. He has 398 total yards with seven total touchdowns during this streak. And for him, it’s part of maintaining belief in himself and the team — even after the 0-2 start.
“I would say our confidence has always been high,” Love says. “We haven’t lost confidence in ourselves. We know what type of team we are. We know we’ve got a great team. We’ve got an explosive offense, a great defense, and a great special teams as well. We just focus on it week by week and take it as if we’re 0-0 every week and we’re trying to get 1-0 at the end of the week.”
The Irish will welcome NC State to Notre Dame Stadium this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
As a reminder, the game will not air here on WNDU. Instead, it will air exclusively on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock. For more information on how you can gain access to Peacock, click here.
