A brush fire with a moderate rate of spread sparked in Ramona on Thursday afternoon, prompting officials to issue evacuation orders and warnings.

Cal Fire San Diego stated the fire was near Highway 78, just west of Casner Road. As of 1:50 p.m., the fire had burned 5 to 10 acres with a moderate rate of spread, officials said.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has issued evacuation orders for areas north of Highway 78 near Rancho Ballena Road. Evacuation warnings have also been issued. See the map below or click here for an interactive map.
