Well that was a fun first half, wasn’t it? The Giants lead the Eagles 20-17 at halftime, with quarterbacks Jalen Hurts and Jaxson Dart both playing at a high level.
The Eagles got on the board first with a Jake Elliott field goal, but the Giants offense got off to an even hotter start, marching 75 yards on eight plays, the final of which was Dart’s 20-yard touchdown run. The first-round rookie produced 109 rushing yards and a touchdown in his first two starts, and he showed his wheels again in this instance, juking out Zack Baun on his way to the end zone.
That athleticism was on display again on the very next drive, as he evaded multiple rushers before finding Wan’Dale Robinson for a 35-yard touchdown. It was an especially rough play for Andrew Mukuba, who botched the coverage and then missed a tackle on Robinson.
But the Eagles offense settled in on from there. A big pass to A.J. Brown helped kickstart a drive that ended in a Hurts 3-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert, and the visitors took the lead on their very next possession, when they got down the field with chunk plays through the air but finished off the drive with four straight “Tush Pushes.”
But Dart and company weren’t done, going 67 yards in 15 plays, with Cam Skattebo running in from 4 yards away to give New York the lead back.
Keep it right here for what is sure to be an entertaining second half!
