HOUSTON – Houston Police Department commanders responded to a shooting Thursday night at the 6555 Harbor Town apartment complex in southwest Houston.
It is where an officer discharged their weapon at a shooting suspect. The suspect was not struck and is now in custody, according to HPD.
No officers were injured during the incident.
Dozens of SWAT officers and K-9 units were deployed to the scene. Law enforcement officials were heard using a megaphone to call for the suspect to exit the apartment.
Neighbors told KPRC 2 News they heard gunshots and saw what appeared to be children being evacuated from the apartment unit during the standoff.
It is unclear what led up to the SWAT standoff. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
