PHOENIX (AZFamily) — As the Phoenix Mercury prepared for game 4 of the WNBA Finals, forward Alyssa Thomas was named among the best in the W.
Thomas was named to the 2025 All-WNBA First Team on Friday. She was one first-team vote away from unanimously being named to the team.

The star forward finished third in MVP voting this year behind A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces and Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx. Wilson and Collier both received unanimous first-team votes.

This year, Thomas set a WNBA record with eight triple-doubles on the season. That puts her with the most triple-doubles, 19, in a career by any player in WNBA history. She also led the W in assists per game with 9.2 and set a league record for total assists at 357.
Thomas displayed her all-around abilities, finishing third in the league in rebounds per game with 8.8. She was named to the All-Defensive Team for the seventh time in her career.
The Mercury will hope to come back in Friday’s game 4 of the WNBA Finals after going down 0-3 to the Aces.
