Series recap: Already champions of the International League first half, the Jumbo Shrimp started the second half well by taking four of six games from the Nashville Sounds. In the early going, they’re a game behind Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Syracuse in the International League second-half standings.

Highlight: The first game of the second half brought a walk-off victory for the Jumbo Shrimp, downing Nashville 3-2 when Joe Mack’s RBI single scored Andrew Pintar in the bottom of the 10th inning.

Crustacean sensation: The Jumbo Shrimp have hit the ball well throughout the last three weeks, with a particular assist from catcher Mack. During the just-completed Nashville series, the stats show a .500 batting average with a double and three home runs for the 22-year-old from Williamsville, N.Y.

On deck: Two of the five highest-rated prospects in the Chicago White Sox minor league system will be facing off against Jacksonville this week. That means a series against Colson Montgomery (.220/.296/.445, 11 HR, 29 RBI), a shortstop with extra-base power, and Noah Schultz (4-4, 4.50 ERA across Double-A and Triple-A), a 6-10, 240-pound first-round left-hander who strikes out batters in bunches but has struggled with control.

Probable pitchers Tuesday: To be announced.
