Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian tend to keep their marriage off the red carpet—but when they make an exception, they ascribe to the motto “the couple that dresses together, stays together.” The legendary tennis GOAT and her husband had fans seeing double as they made a highly-coordinated appearance on Saturday, October 10, marking their first red carpet outing together in over a year.
While supporting her husband’s ATHLOS NYC venture, Williams made a bold beauty statement for fall, swapping out her signature platinum blonde ringlets for a sleek and straight golden-blonde style that went all the way down to her waist with face-framing pieces. The star athlete also leaned into the changing seasons with a preppy, street-style approved take on court-wear—and she served aces at the event, which is the first women’s-only professional track and field competition.
Williams posed in a tailored oxblood red leather jacket from HILÁ with a cropped silhouette and baggy sleeves, showing off a crisp white dress shirt underneath. She tucked her top into the waistband of her HILÁ pleated skirt, which was also made out of the same maroon leather material and hit several inches above her knees. Holding hands with the Reddit co-founder, Williams was all smiles as she accessorized with taupe suede pointy-toed heels, big silver hoop earrings, and a delicate gold chain choker necklace. She mirrored her outfit’s monochromatic palette for her glam, accentuating her eyes with a maroon eyeshadow while adding a neutral mauve purple to her lips and cheeks.

Meanwhile, Ohanian showed he’d taken style cues from his wife’s closet with his own take on trendy oxblood. He dressed up a black t-shirt and slouchy black jeans with an oversized maroon suede leather motorcycle-style jacket, which he wore open while posing on the red carpet. A pair of black leather Nike tennis shoes with prominent white check marks finished off his look.

The private couple have been photographed during the past year at various sporting events—Ohanian and the couple’s daughter Olympia, 8, supported Williams as she presented a trophy at the Women’s FA Cup Final match, and the couple enjoyed a day out without the kids at a golf competition in March (in coordinating cream and white looks). However, the pair—who also share daughter Adira, 2—haven’t made a red carpet appearance together since July 2024, when they attended the ESPY Awards in coordinating black looks with Olympia as their adorable extra plus-one.
