American Airlines Adds New Flights

From June 18 to October 4, American Airlines will operate direct flights between JFK and Jackson Hole using the Airbus A319.

The route marks a return to the Wyoming destination for the carrier after several years and provides travelers with direct access to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone’s southern gateway.

Additionally, American Eagle, the regional subsidiary of American Airlines, will enhance New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) connectivity with new weekend flights to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV), beginning February 13, 2026.

According to Simple Flying, the flights will run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, catering to the growing leisure travel demand from the New York market.

Expanding Dallas-Fort Worth connectivity

The DFW–Gunnison route will operate seasonally from June 18 through September 8, 2026, also using the Airbus A319.

This new link will connect travelers from North Texas to Colorado’s mountain destinations, including Gunnison National Park and the Blue Mesa Reservoir.

American will face indirect competition from United Airlines (UA), which offers seasonal services to Gunnison from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Houston Intercontinental (IAH), while JSX provides flights to Dallas-Love Field (DAL).

LaGuardia to Myrtle Beach

American Airlines is also expanding its seasonal offerings from LaGuardia to Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), South Carolina.

The route, operated with the Embraer E175, will run from March 13 to September 8, 2026. The aircraft features 76 seats, including 12 in First Class, 20 in Main Cabin Extra, and 44 in Main Cabin, offering a balance between premium comfort and accessibility.

The Myrtle Beach service complements American’s extensive network to the destination, which already includes year-round flights to Charlotte (CLT), Philadelphia (PHL), and Washington National (DCA), with seasonal services to Chicago O’Hare and DFW.
