Nadine (Edwards) Baker celebrates her 100th birthday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Nadine (Edwards) Baker, a longtime former resident of Tifton and the surrounding area, now living in Jacksonville, Florida, has become her family’s first centenarian. Baker turned 100 years old on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
Baker married her sweetheart, the late Rev. Banks H. Baker, also from Tifton, in Sycamore Baptist Church on Christmas Eve, 1944.They have two sons: William (Robyn) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Robert of Jacksonville, Florida; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Known lovingly as “Granny Baker” for the many children in her care over the years, she credits her long life to “clean living, serving in her church, gardening and staying active.”
Please join family and friends celebrating her 100th birthday, and her life of service and family, from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Jones Road Baptist Church, 2506 Jones Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32220.
