A man died Saturday evening in Fort Worth after he was shot at by someone in a car, police said.

When officers responded to a shooting at about 6:35 p.m. Saturday, they found a man lying on the ground in the 2700 block of Woodmont Trail, Fort Worth police said in a news release.

The man was shot in the torso and died at the location, police said.

Investigators learned that before the shooting, the man had been a passenger inside a car driving near the intersection of the 6500 block of Brookhaven Trail and Altamesa Boulevard when a person in an unknown vehicle fired multiple rounds at the car the victim was inside, police said.

The victim was shot as the suspect fled, police said.

As of Saturday night, police said no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.
