Jordan Harris made his Boston Bruins debut on Saturday due to the injury to Hampus Lindholm.
Harris, who’s from Haverhill, Massachusetts, signed a one-year deal with the Bruins this offseason. To begin the year, he’s been the seventh defenseman and a healthy scratch, but on Saturday, he finally got his chance to play for the Bruins.
Harris had 16:25 of ice time and recorded one assist in Boston’s 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres. It was a solid debut for Harris, who got to play for his childhood favorite team.
“That was really cool,” Harris said of playing for the Bruins on Saturday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “I felt good. Was pretty happy with my game overall and I thought we played great as a team, didn’t give them that much. So, it always feel better with a win. I was happy overall with everything.”
Harris said he had his immediate family and fiancée in attendance as well as some former college teammates to watch his Bruins’ debut.

The 25-year-old skated on a pairing with Andrew Peeke, and his play even impressed head coach Marco Sturm.
“Really good,” Sturm said of Harris’ game. “He came in and felt like he was playing every game so far this season. Smart with the puck, simple. He can skate. Had some really good sticks, even for his size. He was always in a good spot. I was really happy about his game.”
Harris will remain in the lineup until Lindholm is back from injury. Boston announced the defenseman is day-to-day and will travel with the team on its upcoming road trip.
