Dr. Bonow’s story is uniquely SUSD. A proud product of our schools, she began her own educational journey as a kindergartner in Scottsdale. She raised her children here and has spent more than 20 years serving and supporting Scottsdale students as a teacher, principal, district director and now assistant superintendent.

“I’m honored to step into this new role and serve the district that shaped me,” Dr. Bonow said. “Scottsdale Unified has always been my home and I’m excited to help guide the next generation of learners and leaders.”

Her deep understanding of our community and commitment to public education make her the ideal leader to oversee early learning, elementary schools and online learning options for SUSD families. With Dr. Bonow at the helm, we are focused on growing our youngest learners, nurturing curious minds and providing families with high-quality academic choices that work for their unique needs.

Whether you’re exploring preschool, kindergarten or elementary school, now is the time to enroll in SUSD and be part of a district that values the whole child.

SUSD schools offer:

  • Strong academic foundations with a focus on literacy, math and critical thinking.

  • Music, visual arts and physical education that inspire creativity and self-expression.

  • Before- and after-school enrichment programs that support working families and help students grow beyond the school day.

  • Gifted learning opportunities and dual language immersion programs that challenge and engage young minds.

“As someone who walked these halls as a kindergartner, taught in our classrooms, and raised my own children in SUSD, I know firsthand the impact of a strong start,” Dr. Bonow said. “I’m committed to making sure every child in our community has access to the high-quality, well-rounded education they deserve.”
