SAN ANTONIO — Governor Greg Abbott is joining Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones and other city leaders on Sunday to speak at the third annual Soles Walking 4 Souls Fentanyl Awareness Walk.
Soles Walking 4 Souls was founded by a group of mothers who lost family members and turned their pain into purpose. Last week, Gov. Abbott issued a proclamation declaring October as Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness Month in Texas.
Also in attendance is Soles Walking 4 Souls Directors Kathy Drago and Christina Villagrana, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, and San Antonio Police Department Chief of Police William McManus.
The event is being held at The Greenline at Brooks City Base Pavilion on the South Side.
