Houston’s crisp, fall weekend temperatures breeze into Monday

  • October 13, 2025

Did you like the weekend forecast?! If so, we’re in for more of the same.

Monday’s Forecast:

We’ll wake up in the 60s and by the afternoon we’ll be in the 80s – just like yesterday. We’ll continue to watch and track another air quality alert, coupled with high ragweed allergies and another fire concern -especially areas north of I-10.

Air Quality alert:

An air quality alert has been issued on Monday for Houston, Galveston, and Brazoria, with elevated fire danger continuing through the evening. Skip the bonfires, especially in our northern areas where fire risk remains higher compared to other parts of Houston.

Fire Danger Warning:

Dry, warm weather is expected to persist through Monday night, with another period of elevated fire risk anticipated. So even with that fall crispness, steer clear of bonfires. We’re watching the winds pick up slightly compared to this weekend, to 13-15 mph.

  • Avoid spark-causing activities, as fires can flare up fast.

  • Never leave a fire burning unattended or without purpose.

  • Secure tow chains to prevent dragging and sparking.

  • Don’t drive or park over tall grass.

  • Avoid tossing lit cigarettes onto the ground.

Tracking the tropics:

We’re tracking a tropical wave a few hundred miles away from the southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. We’ll watch for the chance for tropical development next week while moving west-northwestward at 15-20 mph across the central tropical Atlantic.

You’ll be waking up in the 60s with highs in the mid-80s this weekend, so enjoy it while it lasts because by next week, our lows will pop back up in the 70s with highs above average in the 90s.
