For over 25 years, the Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square has transformed its corner of Downtown LA into a winter wonderland, a contrast to the everyday experience of Angelenos with the California sun. The city’s largest outdoor rink is returning on Thursday, Nov. 20 with an annual opening celebration starting at 5 p.m., which includes ice performances and special treats from Sprinkles.
Tickets went on sale on Oct. 8 for the season, which lasts from Nov. 20 to Jan. 11, 2026.
This year, DJ Spotlight Nights, Classical Sundays and “Learn to Curl” return as themed days during the event season.
After the performances, attendees can hit the ice for some skating fun with friends and family.
“Whether you are a Los Angeles resident or simply visiting for the holiday season, the Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square is an absolute must when it comes to embracing winter in Los Angeles,” says Willy Bietak, president of Los Angeles-based Willy Bietak Productions.
The Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square is 7,200 square feet, offering visitors professional-quality ice for skating and entertainment. The seasonal event welcomes more than 45,000 skaters and 221,000 spectators annually, according to Willy Bietak Productions, which manages the rink. This year’s beneficiary is again the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks. Sponsors include the DTLA Alliance, Classical California KUSC, Metro and Metrolink.
“We have people from all walks of life,” Robert Keith, spokesperson for Willy Bietak Productions, which manages the rink, told the LA Downtown News before last year’s season. “Things have been coming down there for years. I have seen countless kids who started there when they were 4 or 5 years old. Now they’re in college. Some of them are married. It’s amazing to be part of this.”
Ice skating sessions are for an hour, and general admission is $22 and includes skate rental. Locker rental is $5, and skate helpers are $6.
The rink is open daily, and online bookings at holidayicerinkdowntownla.com are recommended. Most days, the rink’s last booking slot is 8:30 p.m., but visitors can book the rink as late as 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Special events this year include DJ Spotlight on select Thursdays from Dec. 4 to Jan. 8, 2026. The weekly event brings a collection of LA’s hottest DJs together to perform for guests as they glide across the ice.
Classical Sundays, presented by Classical California KUSC, are held on Sundays at noon and 1:30 p.m., and on select Saturdays in December, the Hollywood Curling Club will host “Learn to Curl” lessons for $25.
Located at 532 South Olive Street, Pershing Square by car, bus, Metro (or Metrolink. Tickets can be purchased in advance now at holidayicerinkdowntownla.com.
Private parties are available on select Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. sessions. Private parties are not available from Nov 24-28, and Dec. 22 to Jan 4, 2026.
