Chevrolet will once again show its support for the American Cancer Society and the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” initiative while Cup Series drivers battle for wins.

The NASCAR OEM partner will field a special pink Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. It will serve as the pace car this weekend as Cup Series drivers compete at Talladega Superspeedway. It will then return as the pace car the following weekend at Martinsville Speedway.

Every time this Corvette Stingray leads the field under caution, it will help raise money for the American Cancer Society. Each lap under caution will generate $500 (up to $25,000). This money will then go directly to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative.

Additionally, Chevrolet will donate $1,500 (up to $25,000) for every Team Chevy driver that delivers a top-10 finish at Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville Speedway.

This outcome is something the OEM partner hopes for considering that Kyle Larson, William Byron, and Chase Elliott remain in contention for the championship. These three drivers will try to secure at least top-10 finishes at both tracks to increase their odds of reaching the Championship 4.

This is not a new partnership for Chevrolet. The OEM partner has used previous NASCAR playoff races as an opportunity to showcase a pink pace car and raise money for the American Cancer Society.

According to the press release, last season’s two races with the pink Chevrolet Camaro SS featured Cup Series drivers completing 54 caution laps. This led to an $18,900 donation.

This special pink Chevrolet Camaro SS with the Straight Talk Wireless 400 decals will actually head to the auction block this Friday at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Fall Auction. One hundred percent of the money raised will go to the American Cancer Society.

“We are proud to celebrate 15 years of working with the American Cancer Society,” said Todd Christensen, Director, Motorsports Marketing & Activation, for Chevrolet.

“It’s always an honor to carry the ACS logo on the pace car during the month of October and continue to be able to leverage our motorsports platform to raise awareness and donations for the fight against breast cancer.”
