There continues to be big movements in the rankings on both the ATP and WTA Tours, even in the latter stages of the 2025 season.
The biggest of those is none other than Valentin Vacherot, who has significantly risen up the ATP rankings after winning the Shanghai Masters from qualifying.
There have also been some big movements in the WTA rankings including Jessica Pegula, who reached the Wuhan Open final.
While Pegula has risen up the rankings, another American player has continued to slip down to her lowest ranking since 2017.

That player is Bernarda Pera, the American who has a career-high ranking of world number 27.
Pera has also won two main tour titles in her career, both coming at clay court WTA 250 tournaments in 2022, as well as reaching the fourth round of Roland Garros in 2023.
However, it has not been so much of a successful year for Pera in 2025, having only won 16 of her 39 matches this year.
This includes Pera losing seven of her past eight matches, with her most recent defeat coming on clay at the lower-level WTA 125 tournament in Rende, Italy, against Carson Branstine.
Pera’s only win in that period came in Canadian Open qualifying against the world number 895 at the time, Madison Brengle.
The last time that Pera won a main draw WTA match came at the grass court tournament in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in June.
As a result of this poor form, Pera has gradually slipped down the rankings and fallen outside the top 100.
This has continued in the latest WTA rankings update, with Pera dropping an additional 95 points and falling to world number 136, which is her lowest ranking since September 2017.
Will Bernarda Pera continue to fall down the WTA rankings?
Pera is now 30 years old, and while it has not yet been confirmed, she does not currently appear to have anything on her schedule for the rest of the season.
If she has decided to end her season already, it means that Pera is guaranteed to continue dropping down the WTA rankings.
Last year, Pera reached the quarterfinals of both WTA 250 tournaments in Guangzhou and Hong Kong, and will subsequently have 108 points coming off her ranking.
If Pera does not gain any more points this year then she would likely fall outside the top 160 in the WTA rankings.
The US Open was the first Grand Slam tournament that Pera had not reached the main draw of since 2017, and that looks to continue in 2025 if she is unable to come through qualifying again.
