Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have dominated on the ATP Tour once again this year.
Between them, they have clinched a combined 11 titles while splitting all four Grand Slams for the second consecutive season.
Alcaraz went back-to-back at Roland Garros and claimed a second US Open title, while Sinner secured Australian Open crown number two and emerged victorious at Wimbledon for the first time.
The ‘new two’ continue to write history with every passing tournament, and now they are being tipped to break one of the most incredible records in tennis history, held by John McEnroe.

In 1984, McEnroe tallied 82 wins and just three losses with a win percentage of 96.5%; the highest of any ATP player in the Open Era.
The American legend won 13 titles that year, including triumphs at Wimbledon and the US Open, while also reaching the final of Roland Garros for the first and only time, where he lost to Ivan Lendl; a defeat Patrick Mouratoglou deemed ‘crazy painful’.
In a post on Instagram, Mouratoglou said: “The percentage of matches won by John McEnroe in 1984 is unbelievable.
“I don’t know if you guys remember, but he was so dominant that year. Out of the three very little defeats of 1984, I think there is only one that is crazy painful, and he still remembers that day.

“It was the final of Roland Garros against Ivan Lendl. John McEnroe was two sets up, six three, six two, four all in the third. He was so close to winning, but he did not.”
Mouratoglou then claimed that his win rate that year was beatable, suggesting Alcaraz and Sinner are the only two players capable of surpassing 96.5%.
The Frenchman explained: “When you see the dominance of Carlos and Jannik at the moment, I think if one year, one of those two is injured in the near future and the other one is extremely focused, I think they can break that record.”
The 2025 win percentages of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner
This year, Alcaraz has amassed a total of 67 wins, having lost just seven times at ATP events.
The Spaniard has suffered defeats to Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Jiri Lehecka, Jack Draper, David Goffin, Holger Rune, and Taylor Fritz, recording a win percentage of 90.54%.
Sinner, on the other hand, has enjoyed a win rate of 87.76%, with a season record of 43 victories and six losses.
Only Alcaraz and Alexander Bublik have managed to beat him since January, though Tallon Griekspoor did advance past the Italian via a walkover at the Shanghai Masters.
