Netflix‘s sports drama Fight for ’84, starring Jamie Foxx and Malachi Beasley, has rounded out its cast with 11 additions: Shea Whigham (American Primeval), Dan Perrault (The Residence), Will Chase (Dopesick), Algee Smith (Euphoria), Jamir Cope, Mitchell Edwards (All American: Homecoming), Al-Shabazz Jabateh (Bel-Air), Tre McBride, Xavier Mills (Forever), Adrian Martinez (Unfrosted), and Javier Bolaños (Casa Grande).

Currently in production in New Jersey, the film takes place after the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team is tragically killed in a plane crash in 1980, when a new coach is brought in to rebuild the team from scratch and lead them to victory at the ’84 Olympics, winning the most medals in Olympic boxing history.

Andrés Baiz, a Colombian filmmaker known for work on shows like Griselda and Narcos, is directing from a script by Oscar nominees Andrea Berloff and John Gatins and Andy Weiss. Producers include Eric Newman for Grand Electric, Bryan Unkeless for Night Owl, Foxx, and Michael W. Abbott for A Move Films Production. Executive producers are Andy Weiss for A WeBros Entertainment Production, Henry Tillman, and Datari Turner.
