Fort Worth-based design-build general contractor Speed Fab-Crete has completed construction on the new state-of-the-art, 41,688-square-foot Classic Honda of Midland dealership.
The project replaces the dealership’s aging facility on West Wall Street. It is one of the first facilities in the U.S. to be built using Honda’s new “Blue Stage” Generation 4 prototype design concept.
The project is also the first development in Midland’s new Westridge Park Addition on the west side of Loop 250 south of Thomason Drive. It encompasses three new buildings across seven acres, including a 36,869-square-foot, two-story main dealership building, a 3,343-square-foot pre-owned vehicle facility, and a 1,476-square-foot car wash.
Design features include an expansive floor-to-ceiling glass showroom with the distinctive Honda blue entry frame, a cantilevered canopy, a concrete plaza for new vehicle display, advanced digital technology, LED lighting, polished concrete floors, lounge areas, a café, and a climate-controlled service center.
“The completion of Classic Honda of Midland represents a milestone not only for our team but also for the Midland community,” said Ron Hamm, president of Speed Fab-Crete. “We are proud to have collaborated with our exceptional partners at Classic to create a dealership that blends modern architecture with the unique character of West Texas.”
In addition to Speed Fab-Crete as the general contractor, other project team members included Fort Worth-based Callahan & Freeman as the architect, and Midland-based Parkhill and Fort Worth-based Baird, Hampton, & Brown as engineering partners.
Speed Fab-Crete, founded in 1951 by Dave Bloxom Sr., pioneered precast concrete load-bearing wall panels in the 1960s.
Today, its ownership structure includes Hamm and David Bloxom Jr., company chairman.
PRIM Construction in Jacksboro
PRIM Construction said on Tuesday that the Fort Worth general contracting firm had completed the update and relocation of the Four Stars Ford Dealership in Jacksboro, giving new life to dealership with deep roots in Jack County.
The new dealership is 22,870 square feet and features 17 service bays.
The store is based on Ford’s prototype design, featuring new and modern amenities for clients, including an enlarged waiting area and a service area that is more than 300% larger than the previous facility, according to a press release.
The store also allows for future electric vehicle charging and service at a later date. The design for the project was led by David Campbell and his team at Huit-Zollars in Fort Worth.
“We are very excited about the results of the new dealership,” said Trent Prim. “Four Stars Ford is an established name in the Jacksboro community, and the updated look and location offer new and existing customers a better experience.”
PRIM Construction was founded in 2007 by Prim and his wife Beth.
