SAN ANTONIO – After an internal investigation, a San Antonio police officer has been suspended for assaulting a fellow officer she was dating.

Officer Cassidy A. Costa has been suspended indefinitely without pay.

The investigation started in December of 2024 when a third officer shared texts indicated the victim had been attacked. Police released three of his texts

“You know how stupid it is that I had to go to work and lie about how I got a black eye?”

“Cuz she busted my eye open.”

“She sometimes shoves her hands in my mouth and pulls down in my lip from between my lip and gums to so I can stop talking.”

Police officials received information on December 9, 2024 that one of their officers was allegedly involved in family violence incidents with another officer she was dating.

The report said, “Officer Costa’s actions did not conform to the ordinary and reasonable rules of good conduct and behavior and/or brought reproach and discredit on herself and the San Antonio Police Department when she assaulted another sworn member.”

Costa was suspended on April 10th.
