PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for Oct. 15, 2025:
El Jefe Tacos – 706 W Southern Ave, Mesa
3 violations:
- 2 meat slicers plugged in and dirty
- No paper towels at hand wash sink
- First Aid kits stored above chiller
Sweet Magic– 3607 E Bell Rd, Phoenix
3 violations:
- Raw eggs stored over tikka sauce
- Food items not labeled
- Boxes of food stored on floor
Etta Scottsdale Quarter – 15301 N Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale
3 violations:
- No dates on shellfish tags
- Dishwashing machine not cleaning properly
- Tomato sauce not kept hot enough
Pacino’s – 2831 N Power Rd, Mesa
3 violations:
- Alfredo sauce out of temperature
- Container of veal kept past discard date
- Can of insecticide below food prep area
The Kickin’ Crab – 20 S Dobson Rd, Mesa
4 violations:
- No certified food manager
- Employee food stored above food for customers
- 10 dead clams mixed with live clams
- Raw shrimp stored above boxes of potatoes
