A home that some might say is “out of this world” is on the market in a Chicago suburb.
A circular home dubbed “the spaceship house” in Mettawa has been listed privately for $3.25 million.
The three-bedroom, 5,000-square-foot home sits on 5.3 acres in the northern suburb and is known for its circular shape.

Called one of the “most iconic residences” in Mettawa, the “circular retreat” is situated near the Grainger Woods Conservancy and “offers unmatched privacy and a lifestyle like no other,” according to its listing.
“Crafted from a monolithic concrete dome, this architectural gem has been reimagined with refined finishes,” the listing states.
From the curved interiors to the walls of glass and light inside to a pond, wooded trails island firepit and more outside.

“This is more than a home-it’s a sanctuary, a statement, and a once-in-a-lifetime work of living art,” the listing states.
Owner Bob Hollar, who has owned the home since 1996, told Crains Chicago they have intentionally “kept a low profile.” Hollar and his wife listed the home because they have been splitting their time between another home in South Carolina and will be moving there full time.
