SAN ANTONIO – A local icon is being recognised as one of Texas’s must-see road trip destinations!

In honor of Guinness World Records’ 70th anniversary, they’re highlighting a few record-breaking spots across the U.S. — and our giant cowboy boots at North Star Mall made the list!

They were officially named the world’s largest cowboy boot sculpture back in 2014 and now they’re being featured again in the upcoming Guinness World Records 2026 book as a “must-see” road trip stop across America.

“From the largest cowboy boot sculpture to the largest horn spread on a living cow, it’s no wonder Texas is known for size!” said Guinness World Records in a statement. “Our first stop is San Antonio, where the world’s largest cowboy boot sculpture stands at an incredible 35 ft 3 in (10.74 m) tall.”

Artist Bob Wade, who erected the boots just outside the North Star Mall, just north of downtown, along Loop 410, says he didn’t design the art piece with record-breaking in mind.

“The idea that one of my projects would end up in this famous publication is pretty overwhelming,” said Bob Wade. “It’s incredible to be featured in the book alongside other amazing records and record-holders.”

Other stops along this Texas-sized road trip include the largest belt buckle: 10 ft 6 in x 14 ft 6.4 in (3.20 m x 4.43 m), the largest spur: 33 ft 10.75 in (10.33 m) tall, 21 ft 1.5 in (6.44 m) long and 8 ft 8.52 in (2.65 m) wide, and the largest homecoming corsage (mum): 290.64 ft (27 m)!
