A female working as a self-employed cleaner is facing theft charges after stolen jewellery was recovered in her possession in Bowmanville.
In September 2025, the Durham Regional Police East Division Criminal Investigations Branch began an investigation into a female believed to be responsible for several thefts and break-and-enters. The suspect was working as a self-employed cleaner, operating under the business name ‘Maids to Us.’
Investigators believe the suspect used her position as a cleaner to gain access to homes, targeting older-aged clientele.
On Friday, October 10, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence. A large quantity of jewellery, believed to be linked to multiple incidents, was located.
Police have concerns there are additional victims, and are urging anyone who may have hired the suspect to clean their home to contact investigators.
Danielle Margarita Jarrett, age 41 from Clarington is charged with break and enter, theft under $5000, possess property obtained by crime under $5000, and fail to comply with undertaking x2.
She was held for a bail hearing.
