Phoenix area seeing cool fall weather with below-average temperatures

  • October 17, 2025

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Pleasant fall weather is here in the Valley as temperatures stay below or near normal throughout the weekend.

It is another cool start to our morning with lows in the upper 50s to the lower 60s. This afternoon, we will see high temperatures again in the lower 80s, which is well below our average high of 89 degrees.

Sunshine and below-average temperatures will continue to stick around through the weekend. A ridge of high pressure will build into our state by the end of the weekend and start to warm things up.

We will see a high in the upper 80s on Sunday and close to 90 by next Tuesday. This ridge of high pressure will provide us with plenty of sunshine through next Tuesday.

We are watching a passing weather system that will move into our region during the middle of next week. Here in the Valley, we are expecting a few clouds on Wednesday, and a better chance of some light shower activity in the high country.

By about Tuesday, we could see an increase in moisture across the state, with our rain chances pretty limited to the higher terrain areas of the state.

Right now, rain chances are only around 20% for areas like Flagstaff on Tuesday and Wednesday.
