SAN ANTONIO – A burglary suspect is in the hospital after opening fire on police at a public storage building.
It happened just after 10 p.m. Friday at Public Storage at 8726 Fredericksburg Road on the Northwest Side. Officers were called out for a burglary call and found a man inside a storage unit in the back of the property.
“When they arrived, they found a suspect inside one of the units,” explained San Antonio Police Chief William McManus. “He fired three times at the officers who approached him, and they returned fire.”
The suspect was hit by gunfire multiple times.
The suspect was taken to the hospital. We don’t know his condition.
No police officers were injured.
