SAN ANTONIO – One person is dead, and another is recovering after a disturbance downtown led to gunfire.

Around 4:10 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to the scene of two shootings, one at East Commerce Street and Alamo Plaza, and a second just blocks away at East Commerce Street and Bowie Street.

Police officers on the scene say that there had been some type of disturbance, and shots had been fired. The first victim was found with at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say that the suspect fled on foot towards a Denny’s location, where they shot a second victim. That victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers arrived at both scenes quickly and saw a vehicle fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. A short pursuit was initiated, but the suspects bailed from the vehicle, and police are still searching for them.

No other injuries were reported. Anyone with any information is asked to call the San Antonio Police Department at (210) 207-7273.
