October is packed with festivals, family activities, and seasonal celebrations. From pumpkin patches and haunted houses to artisan markets and community gatherings, there’s something for everyone.

Here’s what’s happening:
Oct. 18 — The NYC DOT Harvest Festival will be held on Castleton Avenue in Staten Island from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This free event is open to all ages and abilities and features a variety of fall-themed activities. Attendees can enjoy a Ferris wheel, amusement rides, a pumpkin patch, tarot card readings, face painting, arts and crafts, and local vendors. Oct. 18 — Staten Island Little League will host Trunk or Treat from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 225 Seaver Ave., Dongan Hills. Activities include trick-or-treating, vendor sales, a food truck, a DJ, and face painting. Oct. 18 and Oct. 19 — St. Paul’s Memorial Episcopal Church will present its 23rd Annual Flower Festival over two days in October, featuring floral displays that honor two community members.
The “Autumn Inspires” festival will take place Oct. 18-19, 2025, at the church located at 225 St. Paul Ave. on Staten Island. The event will celebrate the season with floral displays honoring Peggy Cullimore-Klein and Bonnie Rogers.
Saturday’s festivities run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., allowing visitors to view the decorations while enjoying light refreshments. A $5 donation is requested for Saturday’s viewing. Sunday’s program begins at 3 p.m. with a musical concert followed by an elegant afternoon tea. Tickets for Sunday’s events cost $40. The festival will feature a raffle with prizes including spa certificates, wine, and gift baskets. Raffle tickets are available for $5 each or five tickets for $20. Oct. 18 — Millie’s restaurant of Charleston will host its 3rd Annual Fall Festival from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Families are invited to enjoy an afternoon of seasonal fun and dress in their Halloween best. Oct. 18 — The Harvest Festival will be held on Castleton Avenue between Davis and Bement Avenues from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This free event is open to all and offers games, face painters, rides, a pumpkin patch, live music, and more.

Oct. 17 and 18 — Nightmare On Seaview is an exclusive walk thru Haunted House Experience like no other, featuring live actors and theatrical rooms tapping into the spirits that already lurk over the abandoned Seaview Hospital next door! Oct. 18 — Not So Scary Sensory Friendly Haunted House — The GRACE Foundation is proud to present its Second Annual Family & Sensory Friendly, Not So Scary Halloween Attraction! Join us for one day only on Oct. 18th for Halloween fun the whole family will enjoy. Our professionally built walk thru attraction is designed with you and your family in mind. Oct. 18 — The Healthy Path Foundation Inc. will host its Fall Festival from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Snug Harbor’s South Meadow Lawn, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Livingston. Admission is $15 per family. Oct. 18 — Cottage Row Curiosities — The sprawling food and craft show will take place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The rain date for the monthly artisan assembly is Oct. 18. Admission is free. — snug-harbor.org
Oct. 18 — Old Home Day — Historic Richmond Town— Celebrate Staten Island’s cultural heritage with historic trades, cider pressing, and open-flame cooking. The event runs from 11 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and is free — historicrichmondtown.org/visit.

Oct. 25: Mayhem at The Mount with the island’s newest interactive haunted experience. One night only this year from 6 p.m. to midnight. — cc-si.org.

Nov. 8 — Bethel United Methodist Church members host their annual salute to the cranberry started by their late congregant Carol Plum decades ago. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., there are both an outdoor flea market and an extensive baked good sale including, as the fest name suggests, cranberry breads, cranberry coffee cakes, cranberry muffins, cranberry sauces, cranberry cobbler and much more.
However, the annual showstopper is the cranberry pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. — go early for a seat. Nov. 13 — Grand Oaks Country Club will host its Holiday Sip & Shop on this Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. This festive event offers vendors the chance to showcase products to a highly engaged, holiday-focused audience while guests enjoy champagne, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and live music. The Sip & Shop creates a relaxed shopping environment perfect for highlighting offerings and boosting visibility before the holiday season. Vendors wanted. Nov. 15 — Hearth & Harvest Festival — Historic Richmond TownExplore indigenous culture and hearth cooking with costumed interpreters and historic recipes. Dec. 5 — Community Tree Lighting — Historic Richmond Town — A festive evening with music, sweets, and a visit from Santa Claus. The program is set for 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free. — historicrichmondtown.org/visit.
Dec. 6 — Christmas in Historic Richmond Town — Historic Richmond Town’s Victorian carolers, horse-drawn carriage rides and holiday shopping set the mood in this historic village. Dec. 6-7 — Holiday Hop —Tentatively scheduled at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Gardens, Livingston; details are to be announced.
Dec. 20 — Universal Temple of the Arts (UTA) presents the 37th Annual Staten Island Jazz Festival on this Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the St. George Theatre, 35 Hyatt St., St. George. The evening will feature performances by Arturo O’Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble, Wycliffe Gordon, Brianna Thomas, Julie Maniscalco Dectet, and Sounds of April and Randall, with Sheila E. Anderson of WBGO 88.3 FM as Master of Ceremonies. Honorees include Antoinette Montague, Amilcar Mtu, and Edwina Frances Martin, Esq. The John A. Noble Collection — It’s a lovely space to enjoy sea-themed events. Upcoming on Friday, Nov. 14 is the Noble Art Auction. A rare maritime lithograph, Cape Horner (1955), by John A. Noble will make its first-ever appearance at the event. Donated by Carole O’Brien and Bob Skeele, this limited-edition print—one of only 50—promises to be the star of the evening.
