Cloud cover will slowly clear over the Chicago area Sunday, but cooler and blustery conditions are expected in the forecast.

According to the NBC 5 Storm Team, cloud cover will eventually start to dissipate as the day moves along, with showers moving out of the area.

Gusty winds will stick around however, with sustained winds of 15-to-25 miles per hour and gusts in excess of 30 miles per hour out of the northwest, according to forecast models.

The winds will help usher in cooler conditions, with highs only reaching the upper-50s across the area.

Overnight, the wind will slowly shift directions, blowing out of the south for much of the day Monday. Those winds will help bring some warmer temperatures back to the area, with readings in the mid-to-upper 60s under mostly sunny skies, according to forecast models.

A storm system over parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin will drag another cold front across the Chicago area Monday night and into Tuesday morning. That will bring cloud cover back to the region, with a few hit-or-miss showers expected as the front passes through.

High temperatures will dip back into the 50s, and will remain there for most of the week ahead, with low temperatures potentially allowing for frost to occur Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Temperatures will start to bump back up into the 60s by next Sunday, but it will again be short-lived as those readings are expected to dip back into the 50s early next week.
