SAN ANTONIO – The family of a little girl who disappeared from a local playground in December of 2021 will hold a press conference today and provide an update on the search for her.
Lina Sardar Khil has officially been missing for three years and 10 months.
The last known video of Lina was on Dec. 20, 2021 while playing in the playground of an apartment complex off Fredericksburg Road near the Medical Center. She was last known to be wearing a red dress and a black jacket.
Then, she just vanished.
She was about 40 feet from her door at the apartments, according to the San Antonio Police Chief William McManus. Police thoroughly searched every car coming in and out of the apartments looking for any clues leading to Lina.
There were several searches spanning several miles from the apartment where Lina was last seen.
Police share that there is an 18-minute window from the day of her disappearance from 4:49 p.m. and 5:07 p.m. that they believe is when she vanished.
Lina and her family are refugees from Afghanistan. Her father worked with the U.S. Army, and they came to the U.S. on a special visa.
We will be at the press conference and bring you the latest.
The public is urged to call 911 or the San Antonio Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit at 210-207-7660 if there is any information regarding her whereabouts or details of her disappearance.
