After a smooth start earlier this morning, the Tuesday commute is about to get more difficult for North Texans. Travel times are on the rise in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and there are a few collisions to note.

Travel times

As of 7:48 a.m., a few areas have significant delays in travel times, according to TxDOT:

  • On Interstate-45/US-75 northbound, near near Overton to I-635, traffic is moving at about 17 mph, and travel time for a roughly 15-mile stretch of this road is 54 minutes.
  • Going northbound for about 12 miles on I-635, near Town Centre to US-75, traffic is moving at 20 mph. Travel time on this stretch is up to 37 minutes.
  • Another significant delay is going southbound on US-75, near Collins to I-30. Traffic is moving about 15 mph for about 15 miles. Travel time is 58 minutes.

A few collisions have popped up across the region and are causing moderate to significant traffic disruptions.

As of 7 a.m., all lanes of northbound Dallas North Tollway in Plano are closed at Spring Creek Parkway due to a crash, according to a traffic alert from North Texas Tollway Authority. NTTA warned that drivers should expect heavy delays in the area.

Another collision to note is on US-75 southbound at Monticello Ave near Highland Park, according to TxDOT’s crash cam. At least three lanes are affected as of 7:50 a.m.
