SAN ANTONIO – The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is set to decide the fate of a proposed wastewater treatment plant in Grey Forest, which would serve the planned “Guajalote Ranch” development.

The Florida-based company behind the project aims to build 2,900 homes in the area.

However, local residents oppose the plant, expressing concerns that it could release up to 4 million gallons of sewage into Helotes Creek.

Neighbors, who rely on well water, fear the plant could pollute their drinking water and potentially seep into the Edwards Aquifer, impacting San Antonio and the surrounding areas.
