The Victoria’s Secret show might be over, but Rosalía clearly still wants her wings. But it seems like she will settle for a halo — a permanent halo — dyed into her hair. Yesterday, she posted a chaotic TikTok chronicling the process as a group of stylists bleached a circle onto the top of her head.
Reactions were mixed. One X user wrote, “Rosalía with an angelic halo? She didn’t dye her hair, she just claimed sainthood,” while another posed a very valid question: “When it grows out, isn’t it gonna have a gap at the front?” Fair, but can’t a girl have a little fun with her hair now and then? I don’t think it’ll be long until we see copycats pop up on TikTok.
In case you missed it, this isn’t the first time Rosalía has played with bleach. She went viral during Paris Fashion Week in September after showing up to the Julie Kegels runway show in a black-and-beige dress with snow-white armpit hair. Perhaps the platinum pits were meant to be a cheeky accessory?
I have a feeling this switch-up might have something to do with her upcoming album, Lux; the album art is of her posing against a clear blue sky wearing a nun-esque veil. Plus, according to a press release, the record “traces a widescreen emotional arc of feminine mystique, transformation, and transcendence.” She underwent a transformation, all right. And is it just me, or is the style growing on me the more I look at it?
