The commute for North Texans is off to a good start Thursday with no significant lane closures or travel delays to note throughout the region.

However, here are a few things to know before you go this morning.

Travel times

Travel times are relatively short as of about 6:30 a.m., but they often tend to climb later into the morning, between 7:30-8:30 a.m.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, travel times currently range between 5 minutes and 20 minutes, but can later get as high as an hour in some areas.

Construction

There is some construction taking place on Interstate-635 westbound at Coit Road in Richardson, according to TxDOT’s map.

The activity has prompted the closure of at least 3 lanes on the highway, causing a moderate traffic jam in the area. It is not clear if the closures are expected to continue throughout the morning.

Collisions

The region appears to be clear of major accidents as of 6:30 a.m., according to TxDOT’s map.
