A buzzy breakfast concept is coming to Arlington: Breakfast Brothers, beloved for its blend of breakfast and soul food, is opening a location at 400 E. Front St. #100, part of the mixed-use Urban Union District.

According to a release, it’ll open on Friday, October 24.

Breakfast Brothers is known for its soulful Southern breakfast favorites served with a modern twist. Founded by entrepreneurs Rickey Booker and Jonathan Smith, the concept began as a food truck and has grown into a celebrated North Texas restaurant brand.

Former club owners who began offering food to keep their club customers from going elsewhere, the duo started out in 2017 with a trailer, using family recipes for dishes such as catfish & grits.

In 2021, they decided to invest further in the food & beverage realm and opened a brick & mortar restaurant at 130 Bardin Rd. in Arlington, in the space that was previously occupied by Smoq’d, which closed in late 2019. They followed that with a second location in Dallas, which they opened in 2023. This new location will be their third.

More recently, Booker has launched a line of products including seasonings, rubs, mixes, and swag.

The menu was developed from Booker’s own home cooking, which he calls traditional comfort food with an indulgent twist. Menu items include pork chops & eggs, ribeye & eggs, shrimp & grits, and French toast. They do omelets, chicken & waffles, red velvet waffle, and a few interesting signature dishes such as waffle tacos — consisting of chicken tenders inside a Belgian waffle — and a grilled peanut butter & jelly sandwich with banana and strawberries.

The new Arlington location, one mile from AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field, will serve as their flagship restaurant for the brand as it continues to expand. Guests can enjoy signature dishes such as Chicken & Waffles, Shrimp & Grits, and the famous “Brother’s Breakfast Plate.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Breakfast Brothers as they open their second location right here in Arlington,” said Mayor Jim Ross. “Dynamic entrepreneurial businesses like Breakfast Brothers are essential to Arlington’s continued growth and success. Their presence highlights the city’s vibrant spirit and aligns perfectly with our vision as we host global world-class events.”

“Our team is incredibly excited to open this flagship Breakfast Brothers location in the heart of Arlington’s Entertainment District,” said co-founder Rickey Booker. “Being just a mile from AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field, we couldn’t imagine a better spot to share our food, our energy, and our mission to ‘Feed the Soul.’ This community has embraced us from day one, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone in for great food and great vibes.”
