The 29th MIR International Rubber Weekend took place at the Hilton Rosemont/Chicago O’Hare, 5550 N. River Rd. in Rosemont from Oct. 17-19, while the main contest tool place at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel, 5450 N. River Rd. in Rosemont.

This year’s theme was “Rubberlesque.” The Rubber Market expanded in its new space and drew an even larger crowd of shoppers than previous years. This marked the second year that MIR was completely gender inclusive.
Rush, MIR28, gave his step-down speech at the opening ceremonies on Oct. 17, which also included the introduction of the judges panel and the seven competing contestants.
This year, Elliott Eve of Melbourne, Australia won the MIR29 title, becoming the first Mx International Rubber, while the First Runner up was Chicago’s very own Magnus. The second runner up was Minos Monro of San Francisco.
