Will the Blue Angels perform at the Sea and Sky Air Show this weekend? That’s still up in the air

  • October 24, 2025

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – The Sea and Sky Air Show will return to Jacksonville Beach on Saturday, but the U.S. Navy Blue Angels still haven’t announced whether they are performing at the event.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expecting to see the Blue Angels at Jacksonville Beach this weekend. However, signs are pointing to them not showing up because of the government shutdown.

Officials said people can expect to find out whether the Blue Angels will perform at this year’s air show by 6 p.m. Friday.

The event’s setup was already underway on Friday, with tents, fencing, and equipment being set up ahead of the show, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

But the biggest question everybody has been asking is: Will the Blue Angels show up?

We’re still awaiting official confirmation, but most likely not. They’ve already canceled two shows this month, and Jacksonville could be the third.

A viewer who said they teach at Fletcher High School told News4JAX the Blue Angels canceled a presentation in the auditorium this week.

News4JAX reached out to the city about the Sea and Sky Air Show and received this response that says in part:

“…In the event that something changes with any of the planned military performers, we have an elite lineup of civilian acts scheduled to perform.”

Alex Alston, Executive Director for the City of Jacksonville’s Office of Sports & Entertainment, joined The Morning Show on Friday to talk about what people can expect at this year’s Sea & Sky Air Show in Jacksonville Beach.

As the setup continues, News4JAX has been speaking with business owners, who said they’re expecting an influx of customers over the weekend.

News4JAX also spoke with a Jacksonville Beach resident who said even if the Blue Angels don’t show up, he hopes people will still attend.

“I hope that people still wanna come out and experience the beach. I know there’s going to be some stuff down at the pavilion and, you know, there’s going to be a lot of stuff, even if the Blue Angels don’t come, they’re still going to be enough for people to want to come and see,” Nancy Phillips said.

News4JAX is working to find answers with the city and will continue updating this story as we learn more.
