Most New Yorkers know the line “if I can make it there, I can make it anywhere” and it has rung true for countless athletes, artists and business leaders across decades.
With deep pockets in the Empire State, some state lawmakers have called for higher taxes on those individuals to pay for legislative priorities, while those opposed to “taxing the rich” have argued that higher taxes will cause them to leave.
New research from the Fiscal Policy Institute looks into just that, and Executive Director Nathan Gusdorf joined Capital Tonight to discuss the findings.
