PHOENIX (KVOA) – Southwest Gas is reminding families of available support for those struggling with utility bills as the government shutdown approaches its 24th day.

Southwest Gas offers various assistance and payment programs, including flexible payment plans and emergency utility aid, to help customers manage their expenses.

The company wants to ensure that families can maintain safe and warm homes, whether through short-term relief or tools that can help manage monthly expenses.

Programs include a Deferred Payment Plan, allowing qualifying customers to pay outstanding bills over time, and Energy Share, providing emergency utility assistance through community partners. The Low Income Ratepayer Assistance (LIRA) program offers a 30% discount on the “per therm” rate and reduced service charges year-round. Additionally, Bill Assistance provides short-term emergency support for qualified customers.
