Multiple Northeast Florida animals shelters and rescue organizations will take part in a Pet Adoption Festival at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25-26, at the Prime Osborn Convention Center, 1000 Water St. in Jacksonville. Hundreds of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will be available with adoption fees waived. Parking is free.

Snorty is a 2½-year-old, 56-pound male mixed-breed dog (ID No. 57979901). He is smart and polite. He walks well on a leash and knows sit and stay commands. He is ready to enjoy the warmth of a real home but would do best in a home without cats.
