A 23-year-old woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal domestic violence shooting in Fort Worth on Tuesday.

Casandra Emilia Majano,23, died from a gunshot wound to the head at about 9:29 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Fort Worth police said they found the woman following a reported shooting in the 700 block of Post Oak Boulevard. Detectives determined that she was shot during a domestic altercation, and the gunman fled the residence afterward, police said.

Shortly after the shooting, Nelson Garcia, 38, was taken into custody in Irving. Police said Garcia contacted police and stated “he had shot the victim.”
