PHOENIX, Ore. — Safety along the Bear Creek Greenway is a top priority the Phoenix Police Department.
Officers are continuing to patrol the greenway day and night to ensure the safety of those enjoying the greenway for activities like walking and biking.
They are also conducting wellness checks and resource outreach for homeless individuals along the greenway, as well as cleaning up abandoned camps, litter, and fire hazards.
The community is encouraged to report suspicious behavior or hazards through the non-emergency dispatch. This helps maintain a safe environment for everyone.
Local authorities are also exploring innovative safety measures. Ideas include employing a Problem-Oriented Policing officer and using drone technology to monitor heavily wooded areas.
To report any concerns or to leave feedback on how to better the community, contact the police department at (541) 535-1113 or visit their website.
