A woman died after a shooting on Oct. 26 at an apartment complex in west Phoenix, police said.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 4:45 p.m. at an apartment complex near North 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road. They found a woman with a gunshot wound, and the Phoenix Fire Department took her to the hospital in “extremely critical condition.”
Police initially asked residents to remain inside their apartments as they searched the area for a shooter. By about 7:30 p.m., officers had cleared the scene and lifted the shelter-in-place order.
The woman later died from her injuries, and officers are still searching for the shooter. The investigation is ongoing.
