A partly cloudy Independence Day seemed like an exciting possibility a few days ago, but now the forecast may be raining on our parades.

Passing summer showers have been crossing over North Texas each day this week, dropping minor amounts of water. The trend was originally forecast to end Wednesday, making way for a sunny and hot holiday weekend. But the newest guidance from the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office shows a continuous low chance of showers and storms through Friday afternoon.

A deluge of water is not expected, but the precipitation could interfere with some holiday plans. The weather service recommends checking the forecast regularly as the details are subject to change.
