A potential murder suspect surrendered to police following a two-hour pursuit that began in the San Fernando Valley and ended in the Inland Empire on Monday.
The chase began in Van Nuys sometime around 9 p.m. Eventually, the driver continued traveling east until they reached the San Gabriel Valley, with law enforcement following closely behind. As the chase continued, the driver headed into the Inland Empire in a desperate attempt to evade officers.
The driver traveled erratically, at some point driving on the wrong side of the 10 Freeway into a circle before heading toward the correct direction again. While traveling in Pomona, the vehicle began smoking and the front driver’s side tire fell off. At some point, the rear passenger’s side tire had fallen off, as well.
The chase ended just before 11 p.m. on surface streets after officers surrounded the driver South Whispering Lakes Court and East Brookside Drive in Ontario. The driver then surrendered to law enforcement.
Details on the possible murder investigation were not immediately clear.
