JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who fled on foot in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Tuesday at the intersection of Gold Star Family Parkway on Pecan Park Road.

Watch the full presser below.

JSO said 5:54 a.m., a Chevrolet S-10 was headed east on Gold Star Family Parkway, and at the same time, a Chevrolet Silverado was headed west on the same road.

JSO said the Silverado made a left turn on southbound Pecan Park Road in front of the S-10, causing a collision.

The S10 driver, a 24-year-old man, was taken to a hospital where he died, JSO said.

The Silverado driver got out of his vehicle and attended to the victim for a moment, and then he fled the area on foot, police said. He is described as approximately 5′6″, medium build, with short black hair in his late 20s or early 30s.

The JSO K-9 and drone unit searched the area, but could not find the man.

Anyone with information can call JSO at 904-630-0500 or CrimeStoppers at 866-845-TIPS, email JSOcrimetips@jaxsheriff.org.
