The Jacksonville Jaguars have nominated linebacker Devin Lloyd for the 2025 Salute to Service Award, presented by USAA, to recognize his work to support the military and veterans on the First Coast. 

Lloyd’s nomination, his second by the Jaguars since being drafted in 2022, was announced on Oct. 29 as part ot the team’s rollout of activities for the NFL’s Salute to Service Month in November. Salute to Service is part of the NFL’s year-round commitment to recognize and honor the military and veteran community. 

The NFL has raised more than $73 million in the past 15 years for charitable organizations that support the military community. 

Both of Lloyd’s parents are veterans of the U.S. Navy, with a combined 40 years of service. Since joining the Jaguars in 2022, Lloyd has visited the area’s military bases multiple times and hosted free youth football camps for children in military families. 

Last summer, Lloyd and his father participated in a Project Odyssey camp in Bend, Ore. Project Odyssey, an initiative of the Wounded Warrior Project, is a mental health program that engages veterans through a nature-based approach, focusing on resilience and managing their mental health. 

Jaguars’ fans can vote for Lloyd by visiting NFL.com/SaluteFanVote through Nov. 30. Fans can submit one vote per day.

Past recipients of the NFL’s Salute to Service award include George Kittle (2024), Joe Cardona (2023), Ron Rivera (2022), Andrew Beck (2021), Steve Cannon (2020), Dan Quinn (2015 and 2019), Donnie Edwards (2018), Ben Garland (2017), Andre Roberts (2016), Vincent Jackson (2014), Jared Allen (2013), John Harbaugh (2012), Charles Tillman (2011), and K.S. “Bud” Adams, a WWII veteran (2010). 

Jaguars sponsor events in November

The Jaguars are also sponsoring the following activities during Salute to Service Month: 

  • National Guard Base Visit, Nov. 4: Jaguars players will visit the Florida Air National Guard 125th Fighter Wing at the Jacksonville International Airport. 
  • Youth Football Camp at NAS JAX, Nov. 4: Jaguars players will host a football camp for around 150 youth from ages 6-14 at NAS Jacksonville. Also appearing will be Jaguars Legends, mascot Jaxson de Ville and The Roar cheerleaders. 
  • City of Jacksonville Veterans Day Parade, Nov. 11: The Jaguars will have a float in the city’s Veterans Day Parade with Jaguars Legends, Jaxson de Ville, The Roar and Veterans riding. 
  • Salute to Service Movie Night: The Jaguars will host a movie night for military families at Cinemark Jacksonville Atlantic North. 
  • Battle of the Branches, Nov. 15: Sixteen teams of active-duty military will participate in a flag football tournament at the Clay County Regional Sports Complex in Middleburg. The winning team will be recognized on Nov. 16 at the Jaguars’ Salute to Service game when they host the Los Angeles Chargers. 
  • Salute to Service game, Nov. 16: The Jaguars are donating over 3,000 tickets to their game against the Chargers to Battle of the Branches competitors, Department of Defense staff, veterans, active-duty members and military families.
